The Little Explorers Early Learning Academy May "SHOCK" You!
Today I had the pleasure of delivering a brand new lifesaving AED to Katie Garrison who is the owner of Little Explorers Early Learning Academy in Livingston NJ. www.LearnCPR.me recently trained her entire staff in adult, child and infant CPR, use of an AED, choking relief, advanced first aid, emergency preparedness, and Epi-Pen administration for allergic reactions. Katie went way above the standard training for her staff and chose more advanced hands on learning to make sure everyone is ready to act, and have the confidence and knowledge to handle an emergency and save lives! This is the type of place any parent or guardian should look for when trusting the care of your child to others! Not all training is equal, and not all daycares and schools take it serious. Katie runs a tight ship with exceptional staff, and has equipped her school with the tools and skills to handle the worst, and be the best!
At Little Explorers, the most significant learning takes place when children are actively engaged and exploring their interests, their environments and themselves. A low student-teacher ratio and individualized planning for ALL children help to enhance care and learning. Katie and her team create an engaging and safe environment for children to thrive, instill confidence to try new things, and provide instruction through a variety of child-centered developmentally appropriate toys, games, books, songs, and hands-on activities. They provide all the education and programming of a private preschool, with the comfort and warmth of a home care environment...
AED's can increase the survival rate of Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) by 85% if used within 5 minutes of onset. An AED is an FDA regulated medical device that sends an electrical shock to a non-beating heart in an attempt to restart it. Each year, 326,200 people in the U.S. experience SCA, and nine out of 10 victims die. This is roughly equivalent to the number of people who die from Alzheimers’ disease, assault with firearms, breast cancer, cervical cancer, colorectal cancer, diabetes, HIV, house fires, motor vehicle accidents, prostate cancer and suicides combined. In fact, the incidence of sudden cardiac death is nearly 10 times higher than the incidence of death from breast cancer.
Faster and easier access to AED's will change this statistic! www.LearnCPR.me & www.GETanAED.me have developed a Public Access Defibrillator Program to help make AED's available to the public in places where SCA is most likely to occur. This includes places where AED's are not currently required by law, but pose the greatest risk of SCA occurrence.
Katie's decision to train her staff and have an AED will mean the difference between life and death for someone if an emergency should happen, and EMERGENCIES DO HAPPEN! Stop by and visit Katie at Little Explorers, and you will see what sets them apart from the rest! We applaud you for your dedication to safety and emergency preparedness!
